About the play
Nonsense is a play written and directed by Mairin Margot. The play was inspired by the idea of merging surrealism and verbatim theatre. After interviewing multiple people from different age ranges about what life, aspirations, change and death means to them, Mairin created a 25 minute performance that takes audience on a journey through a surreal dreamscape. Through physical theatre, poetry as well lighting such as galaxy, cloud or wave projections, Nonsense aims to fully immerse the audience in an abstract yet oddly familiar experience.
PLOT
An unborn soul is unsure and conflicted about what awaits them in their next life. Through a mystic Tarot reading, an ethereal Entity predicts three challenges for the unborn soul. The Lovers; forming an ever lasting connection, The High Priestess; finding your higher self and The Empress; accepting responsibility. These three journeys allow the unborn soul to realise how wonderful and rare it is to be alive.

Your clouds wander, your colours stream

Unspoken patterns form the heaven of beauty
A Paradise of cotton candy forever living in the memories of time and space
I strive to be kind, to soak in your grace

When I close my eyes I can see starry galaxies being reborn over and over again to the point where they understand everything that has been, anything that might be and all that is.
- Endless realms of beauty and forgiveness consume my heart and soul; dimensions I have never seen and yet know so very well.
Created of memories I have never lived or only seen in dreams.

Is this the place where all my past souls and future dreams come to dance

Leading me to believe that this is what life is all about; loving wholeheartedly and knowing nothing. No need to understand when you can simply feel.
